Men Aren’t Built for One Woman Sexually” – 2Baba Sparks Debate

Veteran Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has ignited fresh conversations following a controversial statement about men and sexual fidelity.

Appearing on the latest episode of the 234 Mzansi podcast, hosted by Ani Emmanuel (aka Nedu Wazobia) and others, the 49-year-old singer claimed that men are biologically not designed to remain sexually faithful to just one woman — even when deeply in love.

“I’ve said this before, and I got in trouble for it, but I’ll say it again: men were not built to be sexually exclusive to one woman,” 2Baba said.

“A man can genuinely love, respect, and honor a woman, but when it comes to sex, biology makes it hard for him to stay with just one.”

While acknowledging that some men may choose to live differently, 2Baba emphasized he was speaking about what he believes is natural male biology.

“Some people will argue, and that’s fine. But the reality for most men is that they carry many seeds. And naturally, it’s hard to drop them for just one woman,” he added.

These remarks come amid renewed public interest in his personal life, particularly his previous relationship with Nollywood actress Annie Idibia.

Though he declined to go into specifics, 2Baba confirmed that their separation was mutual, saying:

“Annie and I had a strong bond. She’s a wonderful person, but things just weren’t working anymore.
We both gave it our best. I’m not here to share all the details, but the truth is, it just didn’t work.”

The singer also urged couples to be honest about their struggles, emphasizing that no one should stay in a failing marriage out of fear of public opinion.

“Many people stay in broken marriages because they’re scared of what society will say. But only the couple inside knows what they’re going through.

This idea of ‘living in bondage’ is very real. Some people take it to the grave.”

On the Women in His Life

2Baba had kind words for all the mothers of his children, describing them as “amazing people,” including Annie and his current partner, Natasha Osawaru.

“Everyone has their strengths, their own beauty. People outside are the ones creating unnecessary drama.

I’m not drawn to a woman just because of how she looks — though that’s a plus. What matters to me is character and emotional safety.”

He explained that with Natasha, it was her calm presence and emotional maturity that drew him in:

“I want someone I can be totally honest with — someone I can laugh with and talk to freely without fear. That’s what matters most.”

Despite online chatter and public criticism, 2Baba says he no longer pays attention to opinions about his choices or relationships:

“People can say what they like. My only focus now is the wellbeing of my children.”
