Veteran Nigerian music producer and executive, ID Cabasa, has revealed his desire to collaborate with Grammy-winning Afro-fusion artist Burna Boy.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Cabasa shared that while he has already worked with many of the artists he dreamed of collaborating with—such as 9ice, Olamide, and Reminisce—Burna Boy remains one name on his wish list.
“If there’s anybody I would still want to taste out of my music, it would be Burna,” Cabasa stated during the interview.
Reflections on a Fulfilled Career
ID Cabasa, known for shaping the sound of Nigerian hip-hop and Afropop in the 2000s, emphasized that his journey has been immensely fulfilling, but he still feels there’s room for one more collaboration that would complete the picture.
He praised Burna Boy’s sonic depth and creative individuality, qualities that align with Cabasa’s legacy of working with boundary-pushing talents.
Hints at Another Artist — With a Caveat
Interestingly, the producer also mentioned another unnamed artist he would have liked to work with, but cited the individual’s “nuisance value” as a major turn-off.
“I like the sound of this particular artist, whom I won’t mention, but it’s his nuisance value I cannot deal with,” Cabasa admitted.
While he didn’t name names, speculations point toward controversial street-pop sensation Portable, known for his volatile behavior and media antics.
